“We’ve decided to focus our efforts with the NHRA Pro Modified series due to the exposure we can gain for our sponsors,” says Stan Ray, team owner and crew chief. “NHRA has the best tracks and the most fans so it makes the most sense for us to compete with them. We plan to step-up our program for 2003 and be competitive and get CARQUEST its first NHRA win.”
The Ray Brothers team fields a 1963 Corvette from Pat Bennett Race Cars using a supercharged combination. Mike Spitzer provides aerodynamic components.
Scott Ray made his Pro Modified debut in 2001 after competing for several seasons in the IHRA Super Eliminator and Pro Outlaw category. Stan Ray has competed in drag racing for over 30 years. He competed at the first NHRA U.S. Nationals, Gatornationals and Springnationals, and was of the first drivers to actually make a living in sportsman drag racing. Stan is a proud supporter of NHRA drag racing with his Ohio Crankshaft business where he supports Top Fuel competitor Scott Weis, along with many other top teams.
